First Time Visitor

I am planning a visit what should I expect Sunday morning?

How do I get there?
We are on the south side of Indianapolis at the corner of Bluff Road and Epler Avenue.  This [Map] shows the surrounding roads and has a link for travel directions.

Where do I park?
All parking is on the church property and there is designated visitor parking located near the entrances.

What do I bring?
Bring yourself and a Bible if you have one, if not there are Bibles in the pews to follow along with the scriptures in the service.

When do I need to arrive?
Church services are at 9:00 and 11:15 with Sunday School at 10:10. Come a few minutes early to park, hang up coats and stop by the Welcome desk if you wish.

What do adults wear?
You are welcome to wear whatever you are comfortable in. Members often describe the dress code as "business casual," but some people wear their "Sunday Best," while others wear jeans.

What do children wear?
Children should wear comfortable clothes. During Sunday School they may spend time playing on the carpeted floor, or work with art supplies. Sometimes they may go outside.

What are the services like?
The 9:00 Sanctuary service is more of a "Traditional" service with readings, Special music, traditional hymns, prayers and a sermon.  If you are interested in a truly "contemporary" service then you may be interested in our "The Living Well" service which meets at 11:15 in the Great Hall.

Readings and Songs - All readings, songs or prayers that the congregation may recite are printed in the bulletin that is handed out at the service, in the hymnals located in the pews or on the screens in front of the worship area.

Communion - On the first Sunday of the month we hold communion.  You do not need to be a member of the church to participate nor do you need to feel obligated to participate.

Offering - We do not believe in asking visitors to feel obligated to give to the offering.  Also do not feel that you would be the only one not placing anything in the offering plate since many of our members give monthly or some other schedule and do not place an offering in the plate each week.

Sermon - Sermons are based on a theme that may span several Sundays but also will stand on their own.  Feel free to visit the [Sermon] section of this site to listen to past sermons.

May our child stay with us during the service?
Yes, but children are also invited to attend our Children\'s Worship which is held during the worship hour.

What to do after the service?
There is fifteen minutes between services and Sunday School when people visit in the Great Hall over coffee, juice and snacks.  Feel free to join us in fellowship.

Sunday School is available for all ages during the 10:00 hour.  There are several adult classes on various topics and age appropriate children's classes.  The nursery is also available during Sunday school.  See the welcome desk for a current listing of classes and there locations.

Is your church accessible to people in wheelchairs?
Yes. We have handicapped parking spaces, elevator to three levels, handicap restrooms and areas in the sanctuary where a wheel chair user can sit along side others in a pew without feeling in the way or on display.

Do you have services for the hearing impaired?
Hearing assistance devices are available in the sound booth before the Service and may be used anywhere in the Sanctuary.
